Autonomous Practice
Although I discontinued following autonomous classes, I did make a lot of illustrated work that show a different way of how I can work on illustrations.
The group I joined decided to create a page where people would be able to anonymously speak up about things that happened, where people could respond to them and support them through their troubles.
First we created an instagram page and one of the other members of our group worked on a colour theme. I used that theme to create several different designs for masks and shirts as well as our mascot. 'DAVIS'
Which stands for:
- Discrimination
- Aggression
- Violence
- Intimidation
- Sexual Intimidation
Personally I think it's good that people speak about these terms, however I do not spend my time in this area a lot in this particular way.
I tend to work on the other side, where one tries to make people happy and hopefully forget even for a moment what happened to them.
Or plainly just listen to those who had to go through either one of these terms.
These kinds of stories are often very heavy and thus I cannot work to long on these kinds of projects or I have to focus on certain aspects as I did during this project.
I also created some stickers.
The designs were used on the page as well, depending on what kind of story was sent in.
The bird: Sexual Intimidation
The butterfly: Intimidation
The flower: Aggression
The heart: Discrimination and Violence
If you decide to visist the page, please do at your own risk, real stories have been told and can possibly trigger you. On the page itself the same warning will be told, but just in case, I will do so here as well.
